Cytec Displays Industry’s Largest Family of UL RTI 120º C Polyurethane Potting and Encapsulation Systems
Thirteen Different CONAP® Systems Developed to Meet Thermal Endurance Requirements for Retention of Electrical and Mechanical Properties in High-Performance Applications Shown at Assembly Technology Expo

Chicago, IL – September 23, 2008 – Cytec Industries Inc. (NYSE: CYT) today announces that it is displaying the largest offering of Underwriter Laboratories (UL) Relative Thermal Index (RTI) 120º C polyurethane potting and encapsulation systems in its Assembly Technology Expo booth (#547). Thirteen different CONAP® CONATHANE® systems are on display, offering electrical engineers solutions that have passed the stringent UL tests that determine a material’s retention of certain critical properties, such as dielectric and tensile strength, and impact. The high UL RTI rating of Cytec’s CONATHANE systems make them well suited for applications where exceptional performance in the -65º to 130º C temperature range is necessary, such as encapsulating modules, strain sensitive circuitry, transformers, and coils.

The CONATHANE UL RTI 120º C polyurethane series ranges in hardness from 65 Shore A to 70 Shore D, and cures at various process speeds from seven minutes to several hours. The series exhibits varying levels of thermal conductivity to optimize thermal management.
