Cytec Promotes Specialty
Chemicals for the Pharmaceutical Industry at CPhI 2008
West Paterson, NJ – September 30, 2008 - Cytec Industries Inc.
(NYSE: CYT) will promote its derivative and additive offerings
at this week’s CPhI in Frankfurt, Germany.
Cytec is the global leader in Phosphine and Phosphorus
derivatives. The line of products includes reagents and building
blocks for pharmaceutical applications, including
Bisphosphonates, Alkyl Witting and HEW reagents, Organophosphine
catalyst ligands and ligand precursors, Phosphonates,

Docusate Sodium U.S.P. (DSS) is both an Active Pharmaceutical
Ingredient (API) and a versatile, effective pharmaceutical grade
anionic surfactant (surface active agent). DSS is used as an API
in laxative and stool softener formulations, as well as in
vitamin preparations and ear wax removal compounds. As an
excipient it is a solubilising, wetting, dispersing and
emulsifying agent. It is beneficial as a formulating aid in many
applications such as tableting, liquid or gel suspensions,
creams, effervescing tablets, enema and pre-operative colon
cleaners. Cytec’s pharmaceutical-grade DSS products are
